Jakes List of All-Time Favorite Books!

The House with the Clock in its Walls, by John Bellairs I love all of John Bellair's books. Thery're creepy detective stories about a boy and his best friend, a sarcastic, cranky old man.

The Faraway Tree, by Enid Blyton This book's really hard to find. It was one of the first books I ever read. It's about some kids who find a magic tree with a slide down the middle and fruit that are always changing and a ladder at the top that goes into the sky where different kinds of worlds float past.

Anastasia Krupnik, by Lois Lowry There are a whole bunch of books about Anastasia and her little brother, S- well, read the first one to find out what his name almost was!

A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'Engle She also wrote: A Swiftly Tilting Planet and A Wind in the Door. They're kind of eerie but they're amazing and cool.

The Great Brain, by John D. Fitzgerald These two brothers live in Utah a long time ago. The big brother's really smart and he tricks everyone in the town - but he uses his Great Brain to help them too. The little brother tells the story. There's also lots of kind of serious stuff to think about. And there's a bunch of Great Brain books. They're all so good.

Momo, by Michael Ende He also wrote: The Never-Ending Story. They're both incredible stories about kids who tell or read stories that become real - or are real, even if not everyone believes them.

There's tons more but I'll write the rest later.
