Animals can talk like we do. They speak in their own languages just like your friend from another country. You may not understand everything, but if you listen and look at them very carefully, you can tell if they are sad, surprised or happy. When you see someone crying you know he or she is sad. it's the same thing. The best way to understand someone is to imagine what it feels like to BE them. Imagine you are...

Living in water means you can move in all directions - up, down and side-to-side. The water is light above you and dark deeper down. You send out high-pitched squeaks in front of you which bounce off other creatures and return, telling you exactly who's there - fish to eat, or maybe another dolphin to play with. You go up to the surface to breathe. To play, you use your powerful tail to leap out into the air and feel the cool wind on your body.

You can see, but not very well. You FEEL the world around you. Your body is covered in long thin hairs that act like antennae to pick up vibrations. If an insect comes near you, it pushes the air and you can feel it. If a person walks by your web, you feel the web shaking under your feet. If you want to travel, you wait for an air current to pass. You shoot some liquid silk up above you. A long thin strand cools, and when the breeze catches it, you're lifted up.

Daytime is for sleeping and dreaming. As the sun sets, you begin to feel more awake. You stretch and dart through the shadows, balancing easily along fence-tops and thin branches. Your body feels like one fluid muscle. You see in the dark six times better than humans. Even when it's pitch-black, you can easily feel your way around, thanks to your long whiskers. You can easily tell where your friends have been by smelling their scent on the trees or furniture that they've rubbed up against. You leave your mark, too, with a rub of your chin. It's a secret message humans can't see.
